Mylapore Police go around shopping hotspots to caution people of pandemic danger

Even as festival shoppers crowded at clothes stores, firecracker outlets and hawker stalls in the heart of Mylapore today, a team of Mylapore Police, aided by volunteers  went about cautioning people of pandemic time regulations that people must follow.

One volunteer, in flashy attire of a mythological character and holding a flashy mace went about pointing to hawker women without masks and coaxing others to pull up their masks to cover their noses too.

Policemen distributed masks to people who were not wearing those.

The police say they want to make sure shoppers do not crowd at popular spots and their masks are well and truly in the right places.
