Governor inaugurates annual Indian Art History Congress meet at Alwarpet venue

The 29th  session of the annual Indian Art History Congress on the theme – ‘Indian Iconography with special emphasis on Regional Developments’  was inaugurated by the Governor of Tamil Nadu, R. N. Ravi, on Monday, April 4 morning at the C. P. Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation on Eldams Road, Alwarpet.

This session is on from April 4 to 6, with a series of presentations to be made by experts.

Alongside this academic exercise, there are two exhibitions – one of bronze idols and icons made by Poompuhar, and another of handlooms and textiles of Tamil Nadu presented by Co-optex. These two shows are on till April 9, through the day. ( 10am to 7 pm)
