Kodai Nataka Vizha starts on April 22. Twelve Tamil plays, open to all

Kartik Fine Arts sabha launches its 31st edition of the annual Tamil drama festival called Kodai Nataka Vizha
on April 22. This popular 12-day theatre event is back after a two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic.

This year’s Kodai Nataka Vizha is at Narada Gana Sabha main hall – from April 22  to May3, daily at 7 pm. Admission to the dramas is free.

Twelve troupes including four debutants are set to to showcase their talents. This year, the Vizha is dedicated to the memory of arts promoter L.Sabaretnam, former chairman of the sabha.

The opening play ( on Friday) is ‘Chinchu Pinchu’ by Satish Chandrasekaran and presented by the Legally Yours troupe. On Saturday, Dummies Drama presents ‘Minmanigal’ by Prasanna and on Sunday evening, it is ‘Panchavadi’ by Muthukumaran, presented by PMG Mayurapriya troupe.
