Preliminary work on Chennai Metro’s rail project at the Marina is going on at a steady pace.
The area at the rear of Gandhi statue has been prepared for excavation, with cranes used to remove the large granite decorative, circular blobs here.
The restaurants have also been demolished but a washroom closeby remains as of now.
Beachside furniture and gondolas have been shifted or removed in the barricaded area of work.
