Private clinic, Rotary Club and R. A. Puram community join hands to host eye-check camp for civic workers

Ramana Eye Centre in R A Puram in association with Rotary Club IT City and Raja Annamalaipuram Residents’ Association (RAPRA) conducted a free eye-screening camp for Urbaser and Greater Chennai Corporation Health Department workers on July 10.

.All who attended the screening camp were first screened for their blood pressure and blood sugar levels.  BP and blood sugar estimates were done by the staff of Girishwar Hospitals.

Nearly 100 workers attended the camp in the midst of their days’ work. 

Dr. C. Senthilnathan, ophthalmologist of Ramana Eye Centre said that no major eye problem was detected.  Some had refractive errors for which glasses were prescribed.  Some had early stages of cataract and few advanced stages of cataract.  Those with cataract issues were asked to report to the clinic again for further examination and remedial action.

Dr. Senthilnathan, also said that 50 eye-glasses would be distributed free of cost by the camp organisers. On seeing the camp in progress, some maids and watchmen of the neighbourhood dropped in to have their eyes checked.  There were also screened.

 All who attended the camp were served coffee and tea.
