Celebrating the legacy of Bharatanatyam guru K. N. Dandayudhapani Pillai, his students in association with Rasika Ranjani Sabha, Mylapore, are celebrating his birth centenary year, on July 12, 13 and 14, with ‘Samarpanam’, a three-day tribute to the doyen at Rasika Ranjani Sabha, Mylapore.
The centenary event celebrations will be inaugurated by S. R. Gandhi, Director, state department of art and culture on July 12, with performances by the students of Dr. Uma Anand.
Day two will have the student performances from the dance schools following guru Dandayudhpani Pillai’s parampara and Day 3, on July 14 will see the book release of ‘Samarpanam’, a tribute publication from the students to this celebrated guru. The chief guest for this event is A. R. Santhanakrishnan , president, Rasika Ranjani Sabha.
