The statue of K. Kamaraj, with two children walking alongside him, located on the Marina lawns near the Light House has been adorned with a large garland this morning to remember the national leader and state chief minister on his birth anniversary.
He was born on 15 July 1903.
People stopped by to pay their respects as police stood guard here.
Work on Chennai Metro has started just metres north of this statue. The Gandhi statue on the lawns here will be moved out to facilitate the rail line / station. work.
