Councillor joins church team to offer refreshments to Annai Vailankanni pilgrims at Pattinapakkam

If on one side, families were celebrating Sri Krishna jayanthi this Friday, on the other there were streams of pilgrims of Mother Mary headed to the Annai Vailankanni shrines in Besant Nagar and some, onward to the shrine near Nagapattinam, in Vailankanni, all on foot.

There was a big stream of pilgrims on San Thome High Road, walking all the way from north and central Chennai, and at the now-demolished Pattinapakkam Arch, they were invited to refresh at the church campus of Our Lady of Guidance Church. Local pilgrims also joined in.

Father Bosco, the parish blessed the gathering and present here was126 ward councillor Amirda Varshini ; the two distributed food and water for the pilgrims with help from Anthony and his team at Foreshore Estate.
