The San Thome Cathedral community raised Rs.7.5 lakhs through local as well as outside donations to be paid as funding to many parish students to pursue their studies.
The funds were formally given on Aug.17 at the Cathedral; most beneficiaries reside in the Dooming kuppam zone, said Fr Arulraj, parish priest here.
Earlier, on August 15, at two Masses that day dedicated to Mother Mary, over 80 children received First Communion at the Cathedral.
