The 12-day Panniru Thirumurai festival will begin this evening (Aug 9) at 4.30pm at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple
with Sembanar Koil Mohan Dass presenting a Nagaswaram kutcheri.
Othuvars Sathgurunathan and Vageesan will present Saivite saint poet Thiru Gnana Sambandar’s Thiru Kadaikkaappu at 6pm following the Pradosham event.
On each of the days till August 20, leading Othuvars from across the state will congregate at the Kapali temple and present the sacred verses of Saivite Saint Poets at 5pm while at 7pm every evening there will be a discourse on Panniru Thirumurai by eminent scholars.
Thirumurai scholars from Thiruttani, Madurai and Karur among temples in Tamil Nadu will be part of this utsavam.
