Onam festival celebrations reverberated through the campus of MGR Janaki College for Women in R. A. Puram today.
Students from the M.A. Natya Department and the Entrepreneurial Cell curated and managed a series of dances and a set up the Onam Sadya food counters.
“The college,continues its tradition of celebrating major festivals, be it Tamil New Year, Aadi Perukku or Pongal (Makar Sankranti).. Onam was part of this,” said Dr. Kumar Rajendran, chairman of this college.
Starting with the Chanda Melam and kai kotti kali, the recitals ended with Mohini Aatam.
The beautifully designed 16ft diameter pookalam, designed with varieties of flowers in a corner of the campus, was the highlight of the event.
