A full size statue of Dr. B R Ambedkar was formally opened by chief minister M K Stalin on October 27 at a brief event at the Dr Ambedkar Mantapam complex in R. A. Puram.
There was a light rain even as the event got underway; Stalin paid tributes to Dr. Ambedkar and offered rose petals at the base of the statue that is located outside the complex, facing the D G S Dinakaran Road.
VCK party leader Thol Thirumalvalavan and others participated.
