Singer Vani Jayaram was decorated with the ‘Legend’ award at the opening evening of the December Season music and dance festival of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan at its Mylapore premises on Nov.25.
Tamil Nadu governor R N Ravi was the chief guest and he did the honours.
Vani Jayaram, who kept a low profile, recounted the many concerts she had presented for and at the Bhavan centres in India and abroad and of her long association with this institution.
There are over 100 concerts, music and dance, hosted by the Bhavans this Season and many top artistes are featured. The concerts are open to all and this festival sets off the mood for the annual Season.
