Senior violinist R. K. Shriram Kumar decorated with ‘Tamil Isai Vendhar’ title

Kartik Fine Arts (KFA) launched its 25th edition of Tamil Isai Vizha this week at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore; it was inaugurated by arts patron Nalli Kuppuswamy Chetti while the famed vocalist Aruna Sairam was special  guest.

KFA president K. M. Narasimhan, presided over and Vice- president S. N. Srikanth and secretary R. Sekar were present.

The citations of ‘Tamil Isai Vendhar’ and ‘Isai Chudar’ were read out by D. S. Rajagopalan, secretary and by R. Rangarajan, treasurer of the sabha respectively.

R .K. Shriram Kumar, renowned violinist was decorated with their title ‘Tamil Isai Vendhar’ by the chief guest.  Promising vocalists V. Deepika and V. Nandika were conferred ‘Isai Chudar’ titles.

L.Saraswathi of Srirangam, vocalist Thirubhuvanam G.Athmanathan, thavil artiste T. K. Ranganatha Bhattacharyar of Thirucherai, vocalist Abishek Ravishankar, mridangist  Raghavendra, violinist Karaikal S.Venkatasubramanian, morsing artiste Nerkunam S.Manikandan, violinist Madan Mohan and mridangist Chidambaram B.Saishankar were the other artistes also feted on this occasion.
