The 28th of December each year is observed as Holy Innocents Day in the Church calendar. It was on this day that King Herod ordered the killing of all male children under two years in an attempt to kill baby Jesus who was born on December 25.
CSI Good Shepherd Church in Alwarpet observed this day with a prayer by Pastor Rev Earnest Selva Durai.
The Pastorate Committee led by Secretary Y. Bhuvanesh Kumar, Treasurer Rajini Kannan and all the members organised games for the children of the parish. The winners were given prizes.
Sharon Eveson was the MC for the event. Sweets, savouries and tea was served to all. Christmas Tree celebrations were also held and all children of the parish below the age of 12 were given gifts.
The programme ended with a prayer by lay preacher Arun Jesudoss Stephen.
