CSI Good Shepherd Church in Alwarpet is commemorating its 124th year ( it was founded on 25.1.1899).
To mark the occasion, there will be a special Thanksgiving Service at 7 a.m. on the 25th of January.
Y. Bhuvanesh Kumar, secretary of the pastorate committee said that though the anniversary falls on January 25, the actual anniversary celebrations will be held on Sunday, January 29 for the convenience of the congregation.
There will be a single combined service at 7.30 a.m. followed by breakfast.
A souvenir will be released and all former pastors of the parish will be felicitated.
The children of the parish who excelled in sports and academics will also be honoured.
In addition to this, the parish will conduct free marriages of four couples from a village on January 26.
The celebration will wind up with a fellowship lunch.
