This Sunday morning ( Jan.22), a large group of people, mostly women took out a procession from Valluvar statue on Royapettah High Road, to the temple dedicated to Valluvar in Mylapore to mark Thiruvalluvar Day.
108 women carried pots filled with milk and at the temple, an abishekam was conducted.
This event, organised annually by the Ulaga Valluvar Kula Sangam could not be held on Thiruvalluvar Day because permission for the procession was late in coming.
