Jambunathan and his wife Visalakshi honoured by MLA for civic work

Jambunathan and his wife Visalakshi were recently honoured by Mylapore MLA, Dha Velu at the Pongal celebrations of the community at Kallukaran Street, Mylapore.

Also honoured on this occasion was Appu, a social worker who runs an NGO.

Jambunathan is a senior citizen and keen civic activist; with a small residents group including Appu, has changed the face of his street and a lane adjoining it, which used to stink, was unclean and had limited lighting.

His wife works alongside him in their local projects.

Jambu sir, as he is being fondly called, was an employee of State Bank of India and Visalakshi was a chemistry teacher at Vidya Mandir.
