Work has begun to build the float for the annual Thai Poosam teppam festival of Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple.
A lorry load of empty drums which will support and float the teppam was unloaded on a street alongside the temple tank.
Soon, workers will start work on building the float along the edge of the east side of the tank.
The teppam is from Feb.5 to 7.
