In September last year, Mylapore Times had reported about the demolition of the dilapidated vahana mandapam at the Venkatesa Perumal Temple on Mari Chetty Street and the renovation exercise to reconstruct a new mandapam
This exercise is now complete and the consecration event of the newly constructed mandapam will take place between 7am and 8.30am on Friday March 3 ahead of the annual Panguni Brahmotsavam.
There will be a two kaalam homam and pooja preceding the consecration on Thursday evening at 4pm and Friday morning at 4am.
The consecration will be followed by a kalyana utsavam on Friday evening at 4.30pm and a joint street procession at 7 pm of Venkatesa Perumal and Bhaava Narayana Maha Rishi, the kula Guru of Padma Saaliyar community.
The Balalayam of Badravathi samedha Bhaava Narayana Maha Rishi took place on Feb 20 morning at the temple.
