Consumers face frustrating time paying bills at this TANGEDCO office. What is your experience?

TANGEDCO has asked its consumers to move online for all communication and transactions but are its consumer counters pro-consumer still? Do its staff realise they will have to service seniors and slow-to-tech people?

Going by what happens at the TANGEDCO office on Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai, Mylapore, the experience for consumers is frustrating.

There is now only one counter to pay bills; the second has been shut down. Staff take things easy – we saw this man on calls or chatting away while at work and the queue stands still now and then, unsettling the 25 plus people – an experience recorded by us on Wednesdaay, March 8.

Consumers are being told to register their info  including their e-mail ID; so they receive the bill online and pay them online.

We are told that the ‘pay by cash’ at the counter at offices will function but the hint given is that this process will drag for all those who come by here.
