Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai Kendra and The Mylapore Academy, Chennai jointly celebrated the birth centenary of late Dr. S. V. Narasimhan on Wednesday ( April 12) at Rasika Ranjani Sabha.
Awards were presented today to eminent personalities from various walks of life.
N. Ravi (chairman, The Hindu Group and of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai), Dr. Priya Ramachandran, Isaikkavi Ramanan, Dr. Sudha Seshayyan and K. N. Ramaswamy of Bhavan were decorated with awards.
S. N. Srikanth, T. D. Sadasivam and R. Sundar were special guests and Justice S. Jagadeesan presided over the function.
S. V. Narasimhan, or ‘SVN’ as he was fondly known, was a businessman, patron of the arts and a philanthropist. He was also chairman of the Chennai Kendra of the Bhavan and was associated with numerous religious, social and charitable bodies.
