Mahratta Education Fund in Alwarpet celebrated Chaitra Gowri Puja on April 16 at its TTRK Road, Alwarpet premises.
Customs and rituals as per the Marathi tradition were followed.
This event is celebrated in the belief that the divine goddess is due for her childbirth and visits her maternal home , where she is celebrated and pampered.
The function began with a simple puja and concluded with the distribution of thamboolam. Then, various Maharashtrian snacks delicacies such as Chinch Poha and Dahi poha with kurvadya ( fryums) to all present.
