In the Marina Loop Road encroachment case, the judges hearing it at Madras High Court have given the fishers a window despite they going on a protest and blocking the road and Chennai Corporation’s commissioner has assured the court that his team will ensure vehicle movement is not affected daily.
But today, while the blockade of the road was suspended, with fishers removing the boats they had plonked on the road, they carried on their protest in tents by the roadside.
Meanwhile, fisher leaders had a meeting with city police , GCC officers and the Mylapore MLA at the GCC office to thrash out an arrangement.
