Obit: Rajalakshmi Mohan, ‘Crazy’ Mohan’s wife passes away

Rajalakshmi alias Nalini Mohan, wife of late ‘Crazy’ Mohan, the multi-faceted artiste, passed away  on April 18 evening.

She was a resident of Mandaveli’s Ammani Ammal Street.

S. V. Badri, who retired as VP-marketing of Bayer, had known Crazy Mohan and his family for some 50 years. In his younger days, it was Badri who acted as a substitute to Crazy Mohan or Cheenu Mohan.

He says,  “Nalini manni was always generous in her praise of my performances and had many times said that ‘she would pitch with Mohan for a regular role for me.”
She had a sharp intellect and was one of few words. She was always a calm and dignified person, Badri said.
Added Badri, “She was Mohan’s greatest strength and the biggest source of encouragement and support to him. In many ways I found her having a calming effect on people around her. “
Badri notes that in later years, when she had serious health issues, she updated herself on reading on her condition from various medical web sources.
