Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple’s asthana nagaswaram vidwan Mohan Dass and othuvar Sathgurunathan performed this  Sunday morning  at  the senkol installation event in the new Parliament in Delhi.
Othuvar Sathgurunathan told Mylapore Times over phone from Delhi immediately after the event that it was a great feeling to have sung the sacred verses in front of the prime minister.
“I felt honoured to be in his presence. There is a certain tejas about him and the positive energy is transferred on to you,” he said.
Artiste Mohan Dass told Mylapore Times  that he felt ‘dazed’ playing in front of the prime minister inside the parliament complex.
“It was the best feeling of my life. To be playing Tamil Nadu’s raja vadhyam in front of the atheenam leaders and the PM in the  new parliament meant a lot to me. A feeling you may get when you see your child born.”
Mohan Dass said he played the thyaga bramma kritis  that were also played at India’s independence event. He also presented the Thevaram verses and Thiruppugazh.
When Narendra Modi asked him to play a song, he presented Vande Maatharam.
