Reps of residents associations present key issues that bug the area; MLA, councillors attend meet

Representatives of over 25 residents’ associations took part in a meeting that the Mylapore MLA, Dha Velu had hosted on Sunday last at a private wedding hall in Mandaveli.

The meet started with refreshments and a meet-and-know session and then, each rep of a colony made a presentation.

Issues ranged from power supply hiccups and encroachments to garbage segregation and traffic violations and better communication with councillors and the need for area sabha meets.

Association reps at this meet included K S Shankar of Bheemana Street, leaders of RAPRA in R A Puram, Sundari S. of Kesavaperumal Puram, Vishwanathan of MRWA, Balasubramaniam of R K Nagara zone and G. Prabhakar of Rajasekaran Street zone, besides others.

Councillors whose wards fall under the Assembly coverage were also present on the dais, so they too got a listen into the issues raised b y the reps.

Councillors Vimala of Ward 124, Geetha Murali of Ward 171, Mathivanan of Ward 121, Saraswathy of Ward 123 and Amirdavarshini of Ward 126 were present.

The MLA’s team made notes and the MLA responded and he says he will take up the issues that need attention now and address them first.
