Chettinad Vidyashram hosts hosts annual Model UN Conference debates for city schools

The 15th edition of the annual Model UN Conference that Chettinad Vidyashram hosts at its campus was held on July 7. The venue was the Kumararaja Muthiah Hall.

This meet hosts student delegates from all over the city to it and this year, the theme was ‘Visualise, Vitalize and Valorize’.

This event serves as a platform for delegates to exhibit their debating skills on themes related to the United Nations.

At the event’s inauguration ceremony, the main guests were Justice V Bharathidasan, retired judge and Satchithananda Valan Michael of the UNHCR.  Others present were school principal, Dr Amudha Lakshmi, the vice principal and head of the social science department, Tharnee Ganesan.

700 students from schools across Chennai participated in nine different committees formed for the event.

The team from PSBB school, K K Nagar were crowned winners, while that from Sri Sankara School
were the runners-up.
