This group completes chanting Lalitha Sahasranamam one crore times at Mylapore temple

Every evening, for many weeks now, a group of women gather at Sri Virupatcheeswarar Temple, Mylapore and chant the Lalitha Sahasranamam, three to five times.

They have kept count of the chants.

On July 12 evening, this group marked a milestone in this religious exercise – the group completed one crore chants.

All the members came dressed specially for this occasion, did the chanting and shared neivedhyam.

Yamuna S., who started the initiative, said that it was ‘divine will’ which led them to form the group in July 2022.

“We started as a group of 20 senior women. At our daily meet at the temple, numbers vary but this has kept going,” she said.
