CMDA plans to build indoor sports stadium near Mylapore temple

Chennai Metropolitan hDevelopment Authority ( CMDA) plans to build an indoor sports stadium in an open plot near Sri Mundagakanni Amman Temple in Mylapore.

A budget of Rs.2.5 crores has been made for this project.

The project was okayed by the Chennai Corporation council at its recent meeting.

It is said that badminton and basketball facilities are to be set up at the proposed indoor stadium.

However, it is not clear on what basis CMDA has made the decision to build an indoor stadium in this area of Mylapore.

Informally. youths of this area say that cricket and football are the popular games that they play and that they would welcome a proper ground for these games.
