Catholic priests, nuns and people hold silent protest in San Thome, seeking end to violence in Manipur

Priests, nuns and lay people took part in a rally and silent protest in San Thome around the Cathedral on Saturday evening to seek peace in Manipur and put an end to violence.

The community first gathered inside the Cathedral campus where archbishop Rev. George Antonysamy addressed them and then flagged off the procession.

Later, the participants linked up from the Cathedral point to the Light House point, holding up placards and banners. They remained rooted even as the skies opened and it rained heavily.

This event was organised by the clergy and laity of Madras-Mylapore diocese.
