Mylapore Festival 2024: Touring puppet troupe wows students of six schools

Two faces of the annual Sundaram Finance MYLAPORE FESTIVAL have stood out the past 48 hours – the fest was launched in the morning on January 4. It ends around 10pm, Sunday.

One – the delight and enthusiasm in all the teens who presented group concerts ( mikeless ) at Nageswara Rao Park, for an hour from 7 a.m.

Two, the joy, fascination and interest of over 900 students who sat down in their school campuses over two mornings for the puppet shows of Kalaimamani-decorated artiste, Muthu Chandran and his folks from Kanniyakumari.

This troupe had shows at six local area schools – and all were big hits. This was part of the Festival’s outreach plan – to take the performing arts to local schools.

Also, the Post Card Booth ( located opp. Rasi store, Sannidhi Street) has become a huge hit – over 75 teens and kiddies have written post cards to their family / friends and dropped them in the special box here.
