The Mylapore Trio – Amarnath, Surendranath, Aparna – of ‘Sumukham Kalakshetram’ conducted the 22nd ‘Spiritual and Cultural Walk’ on January 1, 2024 around the 4 Mada Streets of Mylapore.
The event began with the singing of ganesha sthuthi and ended at Vaaniyar Mandapam. The veedhi ula kuzhu was led by the Mylapore Trio – they took turns to explain the histories of iconic buildings and institutions on the Mada Streets, doing this between songs that were sung at a few stops.
The Walk ended with a visit to an old house on Nadu Street which belongs to the Bala family. Ven-pongal with chutney and sambhar were served to all.
