Sriman S ., a student of Vidya Mandir school and a resident of Mylapore, won the first place in a state level Bhagavad Gita recitation competition held recently.
He recited the 4th chapter of the Gita in Sanskrit and was rewarded for doing it well.
Chinmaya Mission has been conducting this competition for 30 years now .
This year, over 1500 children across various schools in Chennai participated in the preliminary round.
The state level competition was held at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tiruchirappalli on January 7, where 39 selected children from 13 districts competed.
Sriman says he is grateful to his guru, N. Srividhya, for her guidance.
