Stiff complaints have ended contractor’s round-the-clock work at Indian Bank Staff Quarters campus

It needed some stern messages to the contractor, some timely messages to Indian Bank and a police complaint to ensure that civil work at the Indian Bank Staff Quarters off Ramachandran Road was stopped at the stipulated hours.

Rama Rao Road in East Abhiramapuram is a dead end road abutting Justice Sundaram Road.

Indian Bank had its quarters on Ramachandra Road near Nageswara Rao Park. Recently, the quarters were demolished for re-development.

The contractor at the site carried on work almost all of 24 hours resulting in noise pollution even at night, residents said.

“Residents of Rama Rao Road including senior citizens lost their sleep due to this continuous work on the site,” a resident said.

It needed some stiff messages to a senior bank officer to bring this mess to an end.

Residents say that work is now stopped at the stipulated hour.
