Meenakshi Subramanian, 90 years, passed away on April14 in the USA at her daughter’s residence.
She resided in Mylapore from1944 to 1972.
The Kallukaran Street community in Mylapore where she resided feted her as the first woman graduate when she passed that milestone then, her family said.
She was a teacher in Rosary Matric Girls School, San Thome for nearly 30 years.
She leaves behind her a daughter and a son and their families a sister and brother.
