Anna Vilas restaurant in Mylapore shuts down

Anna Vilas restaurant located at the junction of South Mada Street and R K Mutt Road has shut shop for good. A board here said it was closed for renovation; this was over 6 weeks ago.
Started some two years ago, it had poor footfall though the  response from Mylaporeans was good when it launched – part of a chain which said it had restaurants abroad.
The food was good quality, the interiors were plush and the pricing was okay but it was never a bustling place like Sangeetha or even Ratna Cafe.

  1. I had taken lunch a couple of times. The food was good and the hospitality was admirable. But it was not crowded normal busy during the occasions I had hoteled (not good English)there.

  2. I was a regular visitor to Anna villas , mylapore, what I felt sad was the service , there was only two servers, though food quality was tasty, either it would be got from storage and reheated and in case of any instant food like Dosa etc it would take a long time even if there were only 2 or 3 guests which used to irritate. Finally the curtains are down for this restaurant.
