People who were at the Mylapore Post Office on Monday morning ( Feb.3) noticed that there was a big queue that had been formed in the campus, rarely seen in the mornings.
On enquiry, we learnt that school students were in this queue because they needed to update their Aadhar data and also open a savings bank account, obviously for personal reasons.
Nowadays, all Aadhar Card work is handled by Post Offices; reasonĀ why they have become busy hubs. The E-Seavas hubs inside neighbourhoods seem to have been relieved of the Aadhar work,
Also, since all banks now work on a tight team of staff they are, like in the decades gone by, not able to depute staff to schools to set up accounts.
