‘Dadi vadhyar’ school hosts breast cancer screening camp for women. More events being held to improve school admissions

About 60 women who reside in the Maangollai area off East Mada Street, Mylapore underwent screening for breast cancer at a camp organised at Sree Karpagavalli Vidhyalaya school which is in the same zone.

Dr. Rajkumar of Lifeline Hospitals had arranged this camp along with the school management.

2025-26 is the centenary year for this school that has been for ages called the Dadi vadhyar school and the management is planning to organise many activities in the upcoming academic year.

Since the strength of this primary school ( Tamil medium) is low, the Trust that manages the school now is rolling out many events which will draw people of Mylapore to this campus and coax them to enrol their children here.

Trust members have also been visiting colonies where economically poor people reside to talk about the school and its admissions for the new academic year.

  1. Dadi Vadyar School, originally SKBB Patasala, nw mnamed Karpagavalli Vidyalaya, was once a famous school in mylapore. I studied during !953-54. My class mates were son of film actor MG Chakrapani CM MGR’s brother) and grandsons of Governor Sir Mohamed Usman. Such a great school, now languishing with lack of students, numbering less than ten. A good school with tie up with PS Higher Secondary school and Lady Sivaswamy Girls school for higher studies should be encouraged by all. Mylapore Times can help by encouraging parents to send their children to the school.
