Mano Baktavatsalam, a prominent social worker of the city and a Alwarpet resident passed away on May 2. She was 95.
She was honorary secretary of Womens Voluntary Service of TN and a correspondent and secretary of NKT National Girl s Higher Secondary School.
She was also vice president of Srinivasa Gandhi Nilayam, Alwarpet and University Womens Association of Madras.
Mano was also a passionate Carnatic music rasika and was a committee member of The Music Academy.
She is survived by two sons, B. Vijay and B. Gautham.
