Chennai Metro plans to develop two multi-storeyed blocks and a multi-modal transport hub around its Mandaveli Metro station.
A tender has been floated for this project and the developer will be chosen in abut two months.
As part of Corridor 3, Chennai Metro Phase 2 network, the entry/exit structures of Mandaveli underground station are planned inside the existing Mandaveli MTC bus terminus and the MTC depot.
To utilise the land in an effective manner, Chennai Metro has proposed property development which integrates with station entry/exit and bus pick up and drop off bay to be constructed.
Both the sites will gain dual road access from R. K. Mutt Road and its perpendicular roads.
The key features of the project: 1. Multi modal facility ontegrated building with the Metro network and bus stops inside the complex. 2. Total development building area of 29,385 sq.m – Tower-A – two basement levels will provide parking facilities for over 184 two-wheelers and 96 four-wheelers.
Commercial / office spaces are planned from the ground to seventh floor, featuring dedicated zones for corporate offices, reception lounges, and essential support services.
Tower-B will have two basement levels that provide parking facilities for 318 two-wheelers and 96 four-wheelers. Retail spaces are planned from the ground to the seventh floors, featuring dedicated zones with essential support services.
A skywalk will provide the connect between the two blocks.
The terrace will include solar panel installations.
Chennai Metro Asset Management Limited (CMAML), a joint venture of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), has floated this tender for property development at a cost of Rs. 151 crores.
This project is expected to be ready in about two years.
