Residents of Norton 1st Street in Mandaveli said that power supply failed thrice in a two-hour period this week and it resumed after a 20/30 minutes failure.
This is happening repeatedly for many years, said civic activist C. R. Balaji. The eastern side transformer connected to residences is alright and power resumes shortly but the western side transformer sees delay in resumption of supply, Balaji said in a complaint mailed to TANGEDCO.
He said that in the western side transformer, the fuses are often burnt, perhaps due to overload and they are replaced after a complaint is lodged.
Sometimes, high voltage in the supply badly affects bulbs, TVs and computers, Balaji said.
Balaji said that local area TANGEDCO must undertake a field visit and study the causes of power failures and erect additional transformer as required.
