Visalakshi Ramaswamy has spent over 25 years studying the crafts of Chettinad zone in Tamil Nadu, where she hails from. collated the best, documented all that needs to be done and showcases the crafts at a store called Manjal in MRC Nagar, R. A. Puram.
These craft products are also on sale here; they are made by women of Chettinad.
Her focus has been the unique Kottan palm leaf basketry.
All this has been carried out under the banner of M. Rm. Rn. Cultural Foundation.
On October 29 evening, Visalakshi will speak on ‘Research-Document-Revive’, sharing stories of her 25 years in this field.
