A. Shrinidhi, student of San Thome Higher Secondary School was placed second in boxing in her category at the 69th School Games held in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.
The Class XI student who resides in Mylapore competed in the 66 – 70 kgs category and won the second prize.
The School Games are open to all schools across the country and cover many sports disciplines.
Shrinidhi is coached by the SDAT boxing coach, Chalapathy and guided by the school’s sports teacher, A. Kevin.
Bro. Johnson, school correspondent said that coaching in boxing has been going on for sometime in the school, held after class hours.
