The family of veena vidwan, late S. Balachander (18 Jan 1927—13 Apr 1990) is hosting a musical homage in remembering the ‘voice of the veena’ of this master on his 99th anniversary.
There are two concerts on Sunday, January 18 – from 5-30 to 6-15 pm by Vaishnavi Muddam on the veena and Shubhang Holavanahalli on mridangam (both are young musicians from Australia), followed from 6-30 pm, vocal concert by Kunnakudi M Balamuralikrishna accompanied by Sruthi Sarathy (violin), B Sivaraman (mridangam) & Guruprasad (ghatam).
The event is at Arkay Center, 3rd floor, 146, R K Mutt Road, Mylapore. All are welcome.
