Amma Canteens are now stocked with ORS – oral rehydration solution – which are given freely to those who need them as summer peaks.
This morning, we spotted the packs at the canteen on C. P. Ramaswamy Road, in Alwarpet.
The ORS comes to the aid of people who feel drained while out in the sun as temperatures cross 40 degrees.
The Met Dept. has said that the agni season from May 1 to 5 will see daytime temperatures high.
Metrowater has also been asked to provide drinking water outside its depots and busy spots.
