Sunada Sruti group recites parayanam at temple on Tamil New Year Day

Sunada Sruti is a group of 20 women based in Mylapore zone, well trained in chanting a few Vedic mantras, mainly from Krishna Yajur Vedam, having learnt the mantras by rote.

The group does Veda Parayanam, selecting relevant mantras, in temples, hospitals and educational institutions.

On April 14, Tamil new year day,   the group did parayanam of Narayana upanishad, Purusha suktam Narayana suktam Vishnu suktam Lagunyasam Namakam Sikshavalli and Chaturvedam at Sri Ayyappa Temple in MRC Nagar for some 90 minutes in the evening.

Recently, the group has taken up  chanting Aruna Prasnah , considered to be the magnum opus at twelve kshetrams.
