Vidya Mandir’s Kapil Bhaskar builds voter info platform. People are checking it out

Polling day is at hand. April 23.
You want to take a close look at all the candidates in your constituency before you head to the polling booth down the street and cats the ballot.
Here is help. Check out this web site – www.neeyosi.com
It gives you instant access to the candidate’s basic profile and data, criminal record, assets and background info.
This site has been developed in quick time by Kapil Bhaskar, a Grade 12 student at Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Mylapore.
The 16-year-old, who loves coding and math, spent four days to source data from Election Commission of India and ADR (Assn. for Democratic Reforms, a NGO), sat down for the next 48 hours to develop the website and get it running.
The platform has worked – it crossed 15,000 users within its first 24 hours.
The platform draws on publicly available Election Commission of India affidavits to present each candidate’s criminal cases, educational qualifications, and declared assets and liabilities in a clean, easy-to-read format. It covers all 234 constituencies across Tamil Nadu and is completely free, with no registration required.
Kapil built Neeyosi — meaning “You decide” in Tamil.
“I went for this after many debates and discussions on the elections I had with his family and close friends,” Kapil said.
He resides off Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai, Mylapore and hopes to build on this project.
