Residents of Krishna Sarathy Apartments on Royapettah High Road, Mylapore say that their area is affected by frequent drainage water logging and rainwater flooding during short showers.
This area is near Kesari Higher Secondary School, Chennai.
They say the drainage water stagnation on the main road is occurring repeatedly, causing unhygienic conditions, foul smell, mosquito breeding, and inconvenience to residents.
They also say that during light rain, water gets accumulated on the roads and pathways. School and college students and senior citizens face problems while commuting.
They also said that the space below the flyover is currently not maintained properly,
‘Uwanted public activities are taking place there. This area can be developed into a clean and green public space with landscaping, seating arrangements,” a note shard by th community said.
They have also presented these issues to the Mylapore MLA for action.
