Academy to coach youth for civil services exams launched in Vivekananda College

Sri Kanchi Mahaswami IAS Academy, a UPSC civil services coaching centre, was inaugurated at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, Mylapore on June 29.
This is a joint initiative of Sri Kanchi Mahaswami IAS Academy, Sri Sankara Arts and Science College, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College and Chinmaya Academy of Civil Services and it aims to train  those who aspire to be civil servants.
The programme commenced with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address and introduction of the chief guest by Dr. M. Ramakrishnan, principal of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College. K. V. S. Gopalakrishnan chairman of Sri Kanchi Mahaswami IAS Academy, introduced the academy and spoke about its vision and objectives.
Prof. P. Prakash Babu, vice-chancellor of Pondicherry University, delivered the chief guest address.
This was followed by addresses from G. Srinivasu, vice-chancellor of Sri Sankara Arts and Science College, Kanchipuram, representing the Kanchipuram unit of the academy, and V. Damodaranji, director of Chinmaya Academy of Civil Services.
Swami Dhyanagamyananda Maharaj, secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, inaugurated the new building for the UPSC Civil Services coaching classes on the college campus.
Prof. K. N. Ranganathan, co-ordinator of Sri Kanchi Mahaswami IAS Academy, proposed the vote of thanks.
According to the host, 11 students have enrolled in the first batch so far.
